Hi I have just joined this forum and I hope I’m on the right page lol not good with computers
I have a rr sport with a few problems I have sorted most of them but now I’m stuck
I have a 4.6 A continuous drain on my battery so it’s flat overnight
I have put a meter on the battery and pulled all he fuses under the bonnet with no change
So tried all the fuses behind the glove box and sill no change
Does anyone know if there are any other fuse boxes anywhere or infused supply’s going to anywhere
By the way I disconnected the supply to engine to rule out alternator
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would recheck the big J fuses under the bonnet.

pull relays as well, does fusebox smell burnt?

does it go to sleep, if, is drain same?

my first guess would be alternator but you said it was disconnected sure?

Well I think the alternator is disconnected
I took the wire off the battery that runs to the engine and there was no fault on that
I have pulled all fuses under the bonnet
But I haven’t pulled the relays as I thought they would be supplied by the fuses anyway

I would recommend you measure the current in the big J fuses as most things should be powered through them.

When you find which one it is, you can dig further

Hi Andy I have pulled out all the j fuses and there was still the same drain 4.6amps
I pulled back the top of the fuse box and it looks like there are some wires coming from the permanent live side of the rail which drop into the fuse box and are spliced with a few more
The clamp meter that I have only does ac amps so have ordered another one
As soon as I get it I will try clamping these cables and see where we go from there

So if you have removed all the large J fuses under the bonnet, without a drop, and the thick cable to the engine.
try removing these one by one and see if it drops.

Did you sort out your battery drain issue I am having similar problems just got a clamp meter so will start investigating this weekend

Unfortunately people come on to the forum and ask questions about a issue or fault, are given suggestion as to the problem by members then appear to be reluctant or cannot be bothered to come back to say if they have resolved the issue or not, which may also help others members, until they have another problem and do exactly the same.

I do believe the rear upper tailgate switch/heated screen is quite a common problem causing battery drain on the pre-facelift RRS1 so might be worth checking that.

I don't think it has a separate fuse of its own - it's part of the overall locks and latches etc. The simplest thing might be to just disconnect the switch and see if the drain disappears or not. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I'll pull the fuse for the rear heated screen and pull the plug on the switch and see what happens. Will also look to check the Alternator, but thats a fairly new replacement anyway...

Pull the switch plug on its own, of course, not at the same time as the fuse. That way you know which is the issue. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
