Scandinavian and Canadian CCF settings puts dipped beam on Stu. The aim is to put the sidelights on only. This simply cannot be achieved through a CCF change. It takes less than 10 mins to unplug the fuses and push the cables in, so this mod really isn't that much effort. Well done. It makes a difference. Also adds a small increase in safety too. Kev

There is a reason why these lights are set up the way that they are........ they are not DRL’s they are what LR calls Signature headlights. In 2010 DRLs were not the law for new cars like they are now, they are not bright enough to qualify as DRLs IIRC they are purely for aesthetics because owners were (including me) modifying our headlights with strips of LEDs in the units to copy Audi and BMW at the time. It was a very popular DIY mod back in 2008/2009 so for the facelift LR tried to kill the aftermarket accessory lights makers!

Yes I completely agree Tim. The LED sidelights/fairy lights are no where near as bright as DRLs. However, they do make you slightly more visible than no lights.

On the pre-facelift cars, IIRC yes I don’t know about later models. I did it on my 2007 TDV8 as well as changed the side repeater indicators to clear covers with orange lamps in them. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I added a switch to mine earlier today too. I wanted it to be easily accessible though so I can easily turn it off/on without having to drop the glove box. So I fitted the switch to the top glovebox at the back.

That's good. How do you get the top glove box out? I tried once, got frustrated then gave up! Kev

Didn't have to take it out luckily. I wired the switch up before hand and there was enough space around the back to just about squeeze the switch in. Took me about 20mins to get it in though, but worth it |

I added DRL rings to my old one and wired them up to come on with ignition and go off when ignition turned off

Apologies for being late to this thread - I made the change to the fuse box mod wiring and now am getting the adaptive light error showing up on my dashboard. Wondering if I also need to change the cff settings to Scandinavian using the IDD tool? I don’t have one as of now and was hoping I’d be able to get the DRL daily lights without the tool. Any guidance? Thank you. [/quote] |
