Stealthy looking paint suggestions for SVR?

Evening all,

Looking at putting an order in for an SVR tomorrow potentially. I want it to be relatively invisible (!) hence the question about stealthy paint suggestions without going black preferably although it's not completely ruled out.

I'm going black wheels, black calipers, roof, etc.

Liked the look of bosphorus grey on the build your own site but I've seen pics on here from a few owners and although it's lovely no doubt there's an obvious amount of blue in it whereas in the builder it does look dark grey.

So any suggestions for a different paint I'm over-looking from any of you would be much appreciated Thumbs Up

All the best,

Andy

Hi Andy

I had exactly the same criteria when I ordered my SVR back in October. I originally looked at Carpathian and after lots of looking around settled on Corris. I liked the way the ‘new’ headlights sort of disappear into the colour. Big change for me coming from my previous Supercharged Sport in Yulong white.

The other thing you should do is paint your exhaust tips in Narvik Black. This is the colour of any of the black accents you have on the car and makes it look ‘very’ stealthy. FYI, the exhaust tips are welded to the exhaust system. You will need to get dealer/painter to remove rear bumper to paint them. Well worth it though.

So I picked up my car last week and I love it. I was at the petrol station just yesterday and a guy came up to me to ask about the colour. I talked about ‘Corris Grey’ and we continued to chat. As he was walking away, he looked back at my car and said, “Batman, your car looks really stealthy, Batman Grey.” I was like ‘holy shxt’, exactly, missioned accomplished! So now my car is ‘Batman Grey’.

HeadNZ,

That's smart- I like it!

I like the idea of having exhaust tips painted black, I have a good contact for that and he's well versed on Land Rovers so there's no worries there.

England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Stornoway Grey

Was driving back from Gloucester last week when a Corris Grey SVR passed me and have to say it looked stunning especially with the black accents and wheels - that’s the colour for me Thumbs Up "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

I’m awaiting Estoril blue SVR and feel it would look great with tips black.
What are your thoughts and is this something I can do myself ?
Which paint would anyone recommend? N

If you have the black exterior pack instead of carbon fiber then you should paint the exhaust tips Narvik Black which will match. My understanding is that the rear bumper needs to be removed but isn’t that difficult.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Siberian Silver

Hi Andy

Collected our bosphorus grey svr up from the factory about 10 weeks ago.
We originally ordered corris grey but this colour was discontinued so changed to bosphorus and must say we where both apprehensive but shouldn’t have been it is stunning Even when dirty
It’s different it’s black grey and a blue shade dependant on the light and sun and does it sparkle.
Everyone who’s see it loves the colour and with the black wheels it looks very stealth
Colour is a hard choice why not arrange a factory visit where you are able to see most colours in the flesh
I have a contact pm me if needed

Sorry don’t seem to be able to get the photo right way up

Truth be known I’ve made a right hash of my SVR purchase but have now put it right!

Ordered a new black SVR then cancelled very close to delivery, then happened to come across my perfect spec used approved and it felt right so I went with that. I have SVO balmoral blue with full carbon pack, I’m currently having some paint protection done as well as exhaust tips painted black.

I absolutely love the car and advise anyone if they love what the SVR is about- do it. Used or new.

As for bosphorous grey, at the time when I was first looking I could not find one to look at in real time. Only in September there were two at one dealer!!! I went to have a look and yes it’s an amazing colour!

So in short if I was going new I’d go bosphurous or balmoral blue.

Hi nil,

I asked the dealer if they’d do it as part of their delivery paint prep but their ‘paint guy’ wasn’t keen apparently!

I know urban automotive do a nice job of them but I’ve got my local vehicle prep centre doing it this week.

Urban are Milton Keynes so that might suit being in London

My Sport is Scotia grey. Don’t see too many around. It’s a greeny grey and I really like it. Unusual and subtle.
