I've posted about this before but this time I videod it..
After a cold start the fan comes on after about 5 min and the temp gauge drops from half to 1/4. This sort of coincides with it switching over to lpg. However, if I turn off the engine restart it, everything returns to normal instantly. I've swapped the cts twice but it still does it.
The other day I started it from cold and the fan was on permanently, the engine was hunting and the internal heater blower was working intermittently when on auto. Switching the lpg in or off made a noticeable change to the temp gauge.
I'm not sure how to add a link but if you type 'range rover sport temp guage' in YouTube you can see what's going on. If anyone can explain it I would be grateful.
Is it possible the battery is on its way out? The reason I say that is because if the car hasn't been ran for a few days it pings up all sorts of errors upon starting - trans fault, airbag light, eml light and so on. If the car is used every day its OK.

No. It doesn't do it in the summer, only when the weather gets colder. It does not do it all the time either.
Nothing shows up on a scan so I'm baffled.

Yesterday my wife took the car from Cambridge to the O2 and said there was no trouble at all (nearly 3 hr journey by the way..)
I don't know where to begin looking to find out what's going on.

it does sound like a new battery maybe wise, as it's winter.
and should get rid of all the warnings like HDC off etc.

As for the LPG issues, I assume the LPG taps into the coolant sensor wiring, so it could be loading it.

The battery reads 12.35 volts on my reader. That’s about an hour after the car was driven for 10 miles. Our minis battery reads 12.2 v so it looks like both are on the way out..
Mind you, the Range Rover always starts after a few weeks of standing. The mini on the other hand just will not start after maybe a week in cold weather.

If only you could put the rr one in the mini

Two batteries from Tayna was £160 delivered so no too bad.

No more odd messages now the new battery is on.
Ive had eml light come on and off due to lean mixture both Banks and further investigation has led me to believe the temp guage oddity is something to do with the lpg reducer.
Fortunately there is an lpg specialist a few miles away so I'm going to get it sorted there in the next couple of weeks.

I’m sure the temperature gauge has two senders, one is water the other is oil
