It's easy enough to do with a mod to the wiring in the internal fusebox. See my posts in this thread...

It's not whilst the ignition is on, it's whilst the car is awake (ie. when it's unlocked). But yes, that's the principle. Kev

Great. Doesn't look too hard so I'll give it a go. Do the lights turn on when unlocking the car using the key? |

That's correct. I did this initially then added the switch later. Kev

This mod works great, nice touch also is that LEDs come on when you unlock the car as well as always being on when car is "alive".

I’ve done this mod on my car. I’ve also modified the DRL to stay on with the sidelights so that both work together. When I originally carried out the mod, the DRLs wouldn’t work as the Land Rover instructions tell you to connect into the side light wire. I just changed that wire to the main light wire so now they go off with the main beam.

I know I'm an idiot, but I still can't get my head around how this works.

Fuse 24 and 25 are side lights i.e. the fairy lights you want to use as DRLs (as well as the rear lights).

i don't know if the DRL's are different on a RRS to a FFRR, but the lights look the same! I used my IID tool to set the DRL's to one of the other settings Canadian/Scandinavian and that turns them on all the time also. Is this not possible on a RRS? seems much easier than messing about with wires. Current: 2010 RRS 3.6 TDV8 HSE

You can activate them in the CCF files but has to be in conjunction with headlight/tailight configuration no facility to activate the fairylights on their own.

There’s also a specific DRL CCF setting but I think this is just a standard EUC file and does nothing except give you 2 DTCs for them not working. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
