Hi all

New to me 2016 SVR with 43k miles on the clock clunks over pot holes, joints in tarmac etc. dealer has inspected it and didn't see anything untoward but I can deffo still hear it. To avoid endless trips without success do you guys know what the likely cause is please? The SVR has the updated valve block I believe so assume its not that, when it happens it feels like lower control arms or roll bar bushes, the common ones, but if inspected and not seen to be worn don't want to pay to replace then still have the knocking.

If seems to improve a little when in Dynamic mode, the tighter /stiffer suspension helping reduce the knocking.

This particular one sat on the dealers forecourt for a fair few months so maybe just needs some time on the road but I'm assuming bushes somewhere?

Mines not a svr but their is a slight dip in the road just round the corner where I live & every time I hit it with the passenger wheel it makes a knocking sound but I’ve had it up in the air & cannot find anything worn & mines on 56000miles. Andy.

My 2016 HSE Dynamic sounded like a bag of nails over every bump. I put it in the dealer saying it sounded like my old Disco4 when the ARB bushes failed.

And guess what? The ARB bushes had failed....replaced and perfect since.

Not saying it's the same thing here but worth a check

Mine only does at that dip in road,their is a few speed bumps in local supermarket & it doesn’t do it over those. Andy.

Might be worth looking at your tyre pressures?

On my car, if I had the front pressures up a little, then "tyre slap" over road irregularities could sound like a knock. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Pressures are all perfect, knocking is much worse on broken country lane type surfaces, going to try new ARB bushes its a cheap fix so worth a go
