The ARC system runs at pressures upto 150bar

I wouldn't be confident of putting fittings in the pipework...

The pipes are not that expensive, and its only 4-5hrs of labour

I believe Brit_Plumber on here repaired his hydraulic pipes with compression fittings.

As long as the solution is well engineered and therefore specified and rated adequately, I don't see it being a problem. The problem comes when some numpty nips down to Screwfix and grabs a fitting meant to be used on central heating!

Obviously a garage wouldn't do this because they can easily lift the body, fit the replacement bits and jobs a good'un. However, not everyone has the facility to lift the body to replace the parts in their entirety. Kev

As a design engineer of more years than I want to remember if you have the correct rated fittings there is nothing wrong with it. For example from Parker catalogue 8mm O.D. tubing with 1.5mm wall material low carbon steel is rated at 431 bar & in Stainless is rated at 472 bar
I do not know what size tubing you are talking about but that is just an example. Give me the tube sizes & material & I can give you the ratings.

I completely agree with you Lindab. Brit_Plumber's fittings were rated at 3000 bar so 150 bar is nothing in comparison.
