I try to use everything occasionally just to make sure it's still working and to keep it freed up.

Which would you rather do? Take to a garage for them to tell you it's gunged up and broken through lack of use? Or take it to a garage who tell you it's worn out? Might as well have the use of all your toys  Robin

Sure I read somewhere that you are best selecting access height before you come to a complete stop to preserve tyres and suspension, as there is some side ways pressure on the wheels as the car drops. Nanocom Evo

I also lower my D4 when I have parked. This, together with gathering my wallet, keys, etc., lets the turbo cool down a bit before I switch off.  --

I may be going mad but having stopped the car and forgotten to lower to access height for the dog, when I press the lower button with the ignition on ( engine not running ). The car actually rises.

Starting the engine thereafter, and selecting access height - the car lowers as expected.

Very different from our D4.

Has anybody else noticed this?

Had a series of suspension faults / IEB braking not avaiable.

LR Assist attended and diagnosed inability of gallery to vent on compressor. A small sintered bronze silencer on the compressor was blocked. It was replaced with a modified one with a hole drilled in the centre.

The car now lowers rather than rises going into access mode. I was not going mad after all! ---

I am a newbie, but I believe the LR button on the key can be coded to several features - one of which can be to lower the suspension to access height, or to raise it. Once you have ‘coded’ the button, you then press and hold the LR button and lock button to raise, or LR button and unlock button to lower.

As I am new to my 2008 RRS TDV8, I have just read the manual cover to cover - page 38 if you’re interested
