Not really BP, there's another week to go until the selling garages mechanic is back from holiday, the plan is to get the car recovered to them this week ready for his return on Monday. I'd decided to have patience and wait so that the sellers take their responsibility for whatever the fault is.

Keep us updated.

Have a good read up on the spun bearing issue so that you have a background knowledge of the problem so they can’t fob you off with an excuse. I hope it isn’t that but if it is, at least it’s within warranty and not just after it runs out. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

We've been away on holiday hence no update, here's the latest.
The car was collected on 16 Sept by the supplying garage, 3 weeks to the day of the breakdown, I was informed on 20 Sept that the body had been removed and they would now attempt to diagnose the problem. We were going away on holiday on 27 Sept so I didn't enquire any further at this point as I didn't want the issue on my mind whilst away.

On 4 Oct whilst away, I emailed the garage for an update, I was informed that the car needed a new crankshaft as some on here had suspected Big Cry . I was then told that although the suppliers warranty had declined the claim, the work was being done regardless Thumbs Up and that they would be in touch when the vehicle is ready.

Although I've had to do all the chasing to get an update, I have to admit I'm relieved that the repair is going ahead and the supplying garage are doing what we all would say they're obliged to do given the very short time I'd owned the car prior to the breakdown. Its now 6 n half weeks since the breakdown and I'm expecting another couple of weeks at least before it's ready.

Sorry to hear that mate, I wish I was wrong about it but it had all the hallmarks. At least you should have it all sorted but I have to say that all the evidence suggests that a new engine is required. Is that what you’re getting? 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Not a new engine rather a new crank in my engine, so they tell me.

I’m sure you cannot just put a new crank in it when they go they also damage everything around the crank on the engine block, once that’s damaged it a complete unit. Andy.

My thoughts too TF but from what I know the crank hadn't snapped as such rather it was very close to doing Shocked Question . The car was driveable although sounding bad and was very rough running. I know a snapped crank would make it undriveable.

Finally got the motor back this morning, its had a new crank and associated bits, it had basically spun a shell as a few had suggested, the suppling garage did the complete job including body off with no cost to me. Got to be honest I couldn't have asked for better service off them, yes it took almost 8 weeks in total but patience has paid off. Thumbs Up
