Evening,

I am comtemplating purchasing a 2015 RRS SDV6 HSE Dynamic, I have always loved them but i have always been put off by reliability issues and some eye watering repair bills, the question is I suppose are they as bad as the press would have you believe. I would be buying from an LR Dealer (Pentland Edinburgh) with warranty etc etc.the car I have seen is Black, Cream Interior, panoramic roof, 45k full LR History.

Wheels need a refurb but other than that it looks in great condition for the year.

Any advice ot things to look out for prior to purchase,any help would be appreciated.

No real issues
Except year 3/4 had rear axel oil leak and also
An issue with the EGR valve. Make sure FSH and also don’t they give a 2 year warranty when buying used ?

our 2016 has been great just taken out a 3Y WD policy as "Hopefully"! it covers more than the now 1 year LRApproved warranty (which is a Carcare plan/policy!) (get in writing about crank failure)

we had a valve in the exhaust replaced and rear tailgate recall for adjustment new struts and thats it, No DPF issues or adblue

Under 30k and has a Service pack still on it for next two services already paid for

I bought a 2017 RRS AB from Pentland Perth in Nov 18. Since then it's been to the local dealers eight times with suspension issues, faulty tailgate struts, braking system failures, vibration through the steering wheel, tracking problems, faulty blind spot monitors, EPB problems, air compressor replacement, replacement fuel lines and knackered engine mounts. LR Assist have been called three times to diagnose vibration/humming, EML light (stuck valve throttle body) and airbag light this weekend. It's also started squeaking underneath.

I would suggest you ask the dealer to show you the complete on-line service, warranty and repair history.

RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

45k for a hse dynamic seems a bit steep for a 15 plate unless I’m reading it wrong & that’s the mileage Andy.

I have one. (2015 Dynamic);

44k miles.

Its had a rear diff leak, suspension update (car was leaning over when parked), rattle in the exhausts, creaky windows new battery (could have lived without that), brake pads, a sticky handbrake, and most recently an ARC failure (corrosion - not covered by JLR extended warranty). See if you can have the arc pipes checked. That was £2400. 😂
