I have 255/55/20's fitted on mine and you do have to watch the speedo as it does show less than what you are actually doing (around 8% less I think). Not sure if this has an effect on the odometer though - I.e it clocks more/less miles than reality?

Also seems to steer quickly which is ok for low speed manoeuvrability but you have to be careful with your steering inputs blasting around the B roads!

Spangler- if the speedo reads 8% less, then the odometer will too as they both run off the same sensor. All things being equal, can't be a bad thing, although maybe not so good for the next owner

PS To give yourself a good idea on speedo to actual, compare with a stand-alone GPS receiver. Set cruise control on a flat road and check the difference. Try at say 40mph and 70mph and see what it spits out... You can't see the eyes of the demon until him come callin'

Had a gut feeling the odometer would be in sync - good news I guess
I checked its accuracy recently by following someone I knew and we both reset of trip meters - mine run 0.5 miles less over an 8 mile distance.
Did the GPS thing a few months ago and realised then my speedo was showing less than actual but thanks anyhow

Out of interest, what's your fuel economy like? Physics would dictate that although your engine will run at a lower RPM for a given speed, the larger diameter (and heavier) rims will need more engine torque to run them up to said speed- so fuel economy suffers... You can't see the eyes of the demon until him come callin'

Mixture of motorway and suburban driving i average around 24.5mpg - long distance motorway around 30mpg.

Sounds about right for a TDV8, but worth doing a proper measure if you haven't already- ie brim the tank, reset odometer etc etc... I have done this with mine and the computer lies by exactly 10%. My average over the last several thousand miles is 34.1mpg on the 'puter, which is 30.6 actual. That's a full 50/50 ish mix of urban and long distance. You can't see the eyes of the demon until him come callin'
