Revving on own?

Hi

So sat at 50 cruising, rpm at 1500 I'm finding my rev raising to about 1550-1600 then back down again constantly and every time it rises the car gives a small vibration.

No fault codes

Any ideas please?

Try it in manual and do the same speed to see if it does the same fluctuations.

Ok so no it doesn't do it in manual, popped into my local garage as its already going in on Friday for a service, told the mechanic and hes going to plug diagnostics into it on Friday see if it comes up with anything. He did pull a face and say could be gearbox Shocked , I hope not Sad

Its very slight (at the moment) so will put up with it if its expensive 2008 RRS 2.7TD in Stornoway grey, black leather and 22 inch alloys

Torque converter. A flush will likely cure it short term, but the underlying cause is a worn TC

Yes, fairly straightforward job

Or, at least as straight forward as a gearbox remove/refit can be Laughing

Would that be a Haynes 1-spanner or 5-spanner job? Laughing Laughing (I always thought those ratings depended greatly on the experience of the person doing the job .. you might think it's a 1-spanner job, but Bob down the road would spend three weeks and end up with a pile of spare parts at the end ;D) 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

I don't know, when I booked it in for a service I did say about the ATF and was quite shocked at the price so planned on doing that one next month
