United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Fuji White

It’s grams I meant not percent, don’t know why I said % but anything over 30 grams puts it in limp mode on later models, the earlier ones were 60% I suppose they made it lower as not to Knacker the dpf. Andy.

Update..

Going through the menue in the display...found that engine oil level had been overfilled.

Spoke ro an independent LR specialist...he advised that could result EML lighting up and cause dpf to not regenerate...wbich is much what the dealer I bought it from said.

Car is booked in for diagnostic and oil change along with dpf clean on Wednesday.

From the photo it appears that you have checked the oil with the engine cold. I think the handbook says to run the engine, let it settle and then do the check. I found this out from personal experience and getting the same message. Apologies if I've come to the wrong conclusion.

Hi Tim,

Just checked the manual and you are correct.

However, oil expands to some degree when it is hot so would a cold reading not show high levels? Particularly after running engine to temp and allowing 10mins for it drain back into the pan.

I dont suppose anyone could check their oil level on a cold engine and post a photo on here showing the reading and then check again in accordance with the manual. That would be really appreciated. It would help acsertain what I should be seeing.

I would really be helpful Thumbs Up

Ash3,

I speak from experience on this, if I check the oil level cold it shows overfilled and after running the engine and then leaving for a few minutes reading is OK. When cold all the oil will have drained into the sump, after running the engine it will be distributed throughout the engine.

Cheers Tim

That is good to know Thumbs Up

Though I am reluctant to turn engine on and run it for 10mins whilst I got the red dpf warning.

Hi All

Just wanted to update you all.....got the car back about 3 weeks ago..problem all sorted. Thumbs Up

What was the issue????.......Stuck throttle body as some you have experienced. The stuck throttle body caused the EML warning light which was as result of the syuck throttle body causing the turbocharger overboost condition falut code in addition to causing dpf red warning light.

Throttle body replaced and dpf was cleared by taking it for a blast at high revs allowing dpf to regenerate normally......similar problem to Andy I believe.

Also had oil and oil filter changed due to oil ovrrgil. Was told it was overfilled by half a litre or so....Thank God it did not cost me anything other than inconvenience in loss of car for a week

The car dealer i bought it off paid for the works...consumer protection act 2015...great piece of legislation Thumbs Up

Great outcome.

I have a suggestion, use a fuel treatment to keep things tickety-boo going forwards. See my Archoil AR6400-D and AR6900-D post just now: https://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic54747.html L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
