United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
RRS Trim colour

Hi all,

New owner and forum member, loving the RRS after upgrading from an evoque.
The sport we got needs some tlc and one of the points of attention was the Range Rover lettering, when i removed some of the lettering on the tailgate i could see the trim strip was weathered and really in need of a respray, can anyone tell me what colour this is as I can see three possible options.

Here's a picture of the trim, hopefully someone knows the paint used:

Any help much appreciated.

I did consider it, but think I'd prefer to keep it the same colour as it ties in with the handles and side vents.

I know I could colour code them all but have plenty to do as is lol. It's a 2005 HSE by the way.

Edit: A few pictures of handle and vent if that helps identify.

The paint code will be on a panel under the bonnet, check your handbook for the exact location, Thumbs Up

Thanks, I thought that would only give me the paint code for the body colour, not the trim pieces.

Will have a look.

Edit: Beat me lol.

Sure is Thumbs Up Fellow owner?

I was originally thinking it was Stornoway grey, however now I'm torn between Bonatti grey and Orkney grey (leaning more towards Bonatti grey)

New Zealand 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Santorini Black

If it's original self coloured same as handles/vents etc. it will be Tungsten, unfortunately there is no paint code for it. If it's a 2005 car and painted it's probably Bonatti as Orkney came in with the facelift RRS1 and Stornoway Grey replace Bonatti around 2007/8 if I remember correctly. Paint code should be on front slam panel under the bonnet Bonatti is LRC659 I think, as suggested colour code to body looks so much better.

Cheers
Col

Thanks for all the info, yes it does seem to be the colour of the plastic rather than paint.

I do love a bit of colour coding so think I'll opt to do that.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

For a 2005 car through to 2007 it would be Bonatti Grey for the paint colour, from 2007 through to about 2010 (facelift model) it would Stornaway as I had a 2007 Stornaway Grey TDv8 HSE 9and for those the grey plastic door handles and the vents etc were unpainted BUT the grey was an almost exact match to the plastic, Bonatti had a hint of brown in certain lighting conditions. After Stornaway came Orkney Grey fro 2010 through to L494 which in 2014 the grey became Corris Grey but at extra cost there was Causeway Grey available too. I have every sales brochure from launch to 2011 so will look to see if=f therecis a colour shade listed form the grey of the handles. The side vents are very easy to remove and paint. You have to be brave enough to use a screwdriver on the body panel to start praising them out. If you use the forum search you should find a ‘how to’ that tells you exactly how to remove them as in the early years of RRS L320 it was one of the first modifications owners did. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
