I did consider it, but think I'd prefer to keep it the same colour as it ties in with the handles and side vents.

The paint code will be on a panel under the bonnet, check your handbook for the exact location, |

Thanks, I thought that would only give me the paint code for the body colour, not the trim pieces.

If it's original self coloured same as handles/vents etc. it will be Tungsten, unfortunately there is no paint code for it. If it's a 2005 car and painted it's probably Bonatti as Orkney came in with the facelift RRS1 and Stornoway Grey replace Bonatti around 2007/8 if I remember correctly. Paint code should be on front slam panel under the bonnet Bonatti is LRC659 I think, as suggested colour code to body looks so much better.

Thanks for all the info, yes it does seem to be the colour of the plastic rather than paint.

For a 2005 car through to 2007 it would be Bonatti Grey for the paint colour, from 2007 through to about 2010 (facelift model) it would Stornaway as I had a 2007 Stornaway Grey TDv8 HSE 9and for those the grey plastic door handles and the vents etc were unpainted BUT the grey was an almost exact match to the plastic, Bonatti had a hint of brown in certain lighting conditions. After Stornaway came Orkney Grey fro 2010 through to L494 which in 2014 the grey became Corris Grey but at extra cost there was Causeway Grey available too. I have every sales brochure from launch to 2011 so will look to see if=f therecis a colour shade listed form the grey of the handles. The side vents are very easy to remove and paint. You have to be brave enough to use a screwdriver on the body panel to start praising them out. If you use the forum search you should find a ‘how to’ that tells you exactly how to remove them as in the early years of RRS L320 it was one of the first modifications owners did. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
