So....... I switched out the old Module behind the dashboard as everything pointed to this after checking all the cables (& by-passing each one) and other units in the line, for a 'working used model' same specification exactly.

Same thing - no change - luckily the 'used' module only cost £175 compared to a new one for £1500!!

So where do I go from here??

Any ideas would be appreciated............

United States 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Giverney Green

Looks like something has gone haywire on our 2010 Range Rover sport. Main nav screen turns on to Range Rover logo for a five seconds and then shuts off for 60 seconds and the logo lights up again for five seconds and then shuts down again. There is a clicking when it shuts down It looks like it might be the control module, also known as the audio control module. Does anyone have the remove and replace instructions. I can’t find anything the identifies where the module is located or instructions on replacement. Or is it the screen itself. I have no radio no nav no cameras no phone. Truck drives normally. No dash warning lights. I pulled three codes with my gap tool.

1. U0184-00(2f) lost communication with audio unit
2. B1a85-96(2e) ambient light sensor circuit -component failure-internal failure
3. U0010-09(2a) medium speed can communications bus.

Thanks. Phil

Is the integrated audio module the cd unit mounted below the nav screen to which the key antenna mounts to the bottom. Phil

Yes that’s it, I’ve put instructions on how to remove in a few posts.

The IAM is the SAT NAV, BT, CD, DVD etc. The FCDIM (the screen) is the controller for the MOST and gateway for the HS and MS can. If you have a code reader, can you call up the list of modules installed and see if it gives you details of the IAM and FCDIM (touch screen). 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

So - its not the big unit under the screen - garage says its the Amp (for which I have to pay full whack of £847 + VAT as each Amp (& screen I'm told) is specifically programmed to my vehicle.

Can this be true????

The AMP isn’t programmed or if it is, it has bothered my car! I’m running a 2016 Disco 4 AMP in mine with no issues. I’m also running a Dual View RRS screen from a 2013 car as mine was standard. The only thing I get is a code when I fit another IAM and that tells me it needs programming but it works fine. Get the eng number off you AMP and get one from eBay. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

With the Audio Amp the workshop manual specifically says something about if a new unit is fitted it needs to be calibrated, not really sure exactly what that entails, or if needs doing if fitting a second hand one.

I am being told that the Amp has to be specifically coded to the VIN Number. (so does the display) and the only thing which doesn't is the (2nd hand unit which I've already purchased off Ebay) ?????

No mention of having to code it to VIN No. unless that is what they mean by calibrate the component.

My service guy said he has to plug in the diagnostic kit (Autologic) to programme the Amp to the VIN - which is what Autologic and Land rover said to him too. ???

I will put my IID tool on my car and check but I’m pretty sure the AMP doesn’t register a VIN. Like I said above, I have a 2016 Disco 4 AMP fitted and a 2013 sport Dual View screen and no DTCs or Calibration warnings. I’ve also retro fitted a complete 2016 Disco 4 Meridian system into a 2013 Disco 4 XS with no DTCs. A new unit may need configuring as it’s probably blank and could be used in any vehicle but a used one with the same part number shouldn’t .

I’ll check my car this evening. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

In regards to the screen, I think by coding they may mean editing the CCF to match the vehicle. The FCDIM has a abridged CCF in it so if you have say surround cameras and your doner car didn’t, that option needs to be activated on the doner FCDIM to match the CCF in the BCM. To code it, they probably use the VIN which will correlate to the As Built CCF but the unit doesn’t need it to function.

Using a VIN on my car would be hopeless as I’ve retro fitted lots of stuff (some options, some not) and would probably stop it all working until edited. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
