Phantom Tuning

Hello All I am considering having a remap on my 2012 Reg RRS

have seen a few adverts from these guys and they are not that far from me,

Seems to be a reasonable price and the gains are as below

Not really interested in MPG so will go for the performance one..

ENHANCEMENTS TO YOUR VEHICLE
PERFORMANCE
ORIGINAL BHP
255
TUNED BHP
320
BHP % GAIN
26.00%

ORIGINAL TORQUE (NM)
600
TUNED TORQUE (NM)
691
TORQUE % GAIN
15.60%
FUEL ECONOMY

How does this compare with others and is there better known places in the SE corner
that are recommended by any of you Guys and Galls.. ===========================================

As above. Having been on the expensive end of a poor remap, ALWAYS choose a tuner who specialises in a particular brand Thumbs Up

I've heard to many stories of crappy generic maps that are not tailored to your own car and the problems they cause.

My local Alive tuning dealer needed to remove my Ecu and send to Alive HQ so would of lost the car for a couple of days which I didn't fancy so took a day off work and went direct to Alive HQ and had it done. Was asked a few questions on what I used the car for and how I drove it and what I wanted from the remap so they could adjust the map for my requirements.

Within 2.5 hours I had been out in the car to confirm I was happy with how it drove to which I was very impressed as it cured all the issues I had with the factory map and I was on my way home. Car has been fantastic to drive since and not missed a beat. More than enough power and torque plus it's in the right gear all the time now rather than the delay while trying to work out which gear it wanted.

As said above pick a recommended company with lots of Landrover tuning experience and go with them or take a chance on a substandard map and hope your not paying for a new engine a few weeks down the line. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

+ 1 for alive, sdv6 2012my, 256bhp stock, to 306 after. No issues in 4 years since. Did same as poster above me as it is ecu out job and my outcomes are as they describe. Totally worth it and the journey.

Silverstone, it's the 5.0L, what they explained to me was that due to the way the transmission ecu talks to the engine ecu they couldn't get a exact bhp reading on the dyno but based on the graph readings they could get estimated it at somewhere between 560 and 580 bhp, but as I say that was only a estimate not a exact figure but the way they explained it went over my head somewhat. Did produce 750Nm of torque on the dyno though. Can't remember how much smaller the s/c pulley was either, may have been something like 10% but could be way out on that.

Cheers
Col

Col - how noticeable is the extra (say) 70BHP/ 90ft/lbs for day-to-day driving? The standard car is quite brisk and very useable. Some noticeable extra 'poke', though, would be welcome for overtaking and when pressing on across country.

Also, how long did they need the car for to do the upgrade? Hopefully, they could carry out the work during a day if I waited.

Thanks

General day to day driving fine, no noticeable difference, but open the window and listen while you drop it in sports mode with dynamic, floor the throttle and grip the steering wheel or else you could end up in the back seat, you will need a tyre lever to remove the grin from your face afterwards Laughing. They did it in a day while I waited.

Cheers
Col
