You need one that reads the whole code not just the generic code. This can then be x-ref’d to the workshop manual which I’ve found invaluable in fault finding. Saved me a lot of time fault finding on my RSE and nailed it in minutes. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

The thing with ELM327 is that it’s not a device, it’s a standard. So dozens of tools use ELM327 but not all are equal. Some will clear faults but not give detailed DTCs, some will give good DTCs for the engine and nothing else. They are a bit hit and miss until you try them out. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

just as well buy the right tool first, gap or similar that does it all, makes it keep after first fault or two. (unless your mate has one you can borrow) |
