Hydraulic Oil Leak Above Rear Diff

Hi everyone Im looking for information on how to replace the rear stability control bar on 2010 model. It is leaking hydraulic fluid and needs replacing. Is there a fix for these that you can do without lifting the body up? or a way to bypass the system?

Thanks

The system can be bypassed successfully on 2.7 and 3.0 models

Never attempted a 3.6 removal yet, but I think I have a way to do it, just need a car in to try Thumbs Up

However, to replace the bar, the rear body need lifted off the chassis, and removed out the side. You'd be well advised to replace the rear pipes at the same time, save you doing the same job twice Thumbs Up

Thanks for the reply Disco Mikey, how do you bypass it and is there a kit or something to do it? Can it be done without lifting the body up?

Thanks Smile

2 ways, either bypass the system but leave the hydraulics in place, or do it properly and replace the bars with standard non hydraulic parts Thumbs Up

Either of them will allow CCF editing nor the required firmware updates...

So does that mean it will have to go on the dealers diagnostics after the repair?

The dealers cannot alter the CCF or upload the "wrong" firmware to the car

I had a leaking Ace system and until I was able to have the rear sway bar replaced I just bought some of the fluid from the dealer and then bought Lucas Power steering leak stop or something like that and used it in my ace system. The leak stopped and lads, before you all go flaming me for putting foreign fluids in the ACE system, let me tell you that this was a recommendation found on other Land Rover forums and it really worked. The warning disappeared, the leak stopped and all went back to normal. A few months later I replaced the Rear sway bar (not cheap at all) and everything is working as it should.

Bottom line; If this is a surprise repair then try the Stop leak additive and see how you fare. If it's a small leak you should be fine for one or two months. Plenty of time to save up for the rear sway bar Wink

PM me if you want an actual picture of what I used.
