I’ve read that the RRS 1 had an electronic limiter set at 125 MPH or 200KMH so 250KMH is way over that. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Yes, I think it's electronicly set at 140 mph about 225 Kph from the factory, not sure how he recorded 250 kph my speedo only shows up to 230 kph. RRS2 may be different although I belive it can be disabled with diag. equipment on the RRS1. I have had mine reading 139 mph via gps.

Cheers

My "friend" agrees that the analogue speedo shows up to 230 KPH, but the digital display keeps going, I was expecting a limiter to kick in , but nothing.

Ham, what year model does your 'friend' own?

I just checked my handbook and the WSM, and there is no mention of a factory-set speed limit.

the only reference to a top speed limit is when using the Automatic Speed Limiter:

Quote:
Automatic Speed Limiter
With the ASL switch selected on, the ASL system can be operated in a similar manner to the cruise control system. A
speed limit between 18 and 150 mph (30 and 240 km/h) can be set
, with the vehicle stationary or moving, using the
speed control SET + and - switches (in ASL operation, the SET + and the - switches change the set speed limit in steps
of 5 mph (8 km/h), instead of the 1 mph (2 km/h) steps of the cruise control system). The ASL warning indicator
illuminates and the set speed limit is displayed in the message center.

on a Spec Sheet for the UK spec, the top speed is listed as: 140 (155 opt) mph, not sure what the opt mean?

Naks, its a late 2011, its not an issue, I just assumed there would be one, like I said it hit 250 with no prob and was still pulling hard. (IIRC around 5000 RPM)

The Ford mustang 5.0 GT couldn't keep up ......

Perhaps 155mph opt is ‘optional’. I.e. to have it removed. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Looking at this the friend I assume is in South Africa? On this basis LR may have supplied vehicles without ay limiter as H&S etc in not a consideration there. Also it aids escaping a car-jacking.... MY17 RRS 4.4d V8 Autobiography - Aintree Green (also referred to on Topix as British Racing Green)
