MBRRS,did you run the engine first to get the oil hot as it comes out a lot easier than when its cold, unless their wasn't much oil it to start with. Andy.

My vacuum extractor came with a heavy rubber joiner which was a tight fit over the outside of drain tube on the car and was designed to seal against the tube from the extractor. Drains the full sump volume easily. My extractor is one designed for draining boat sumps and works well. (You cant get a sump drain pan under the engine in most inboard boats as its in the bilge, that's why a boat equipment shop is the best place to get a good one.) Should be done with the engine oil warmed up.

Hi Col your image is a bit confusing as I’m seeing a purple pipe going inside the extraction pipe. The name’s Bond ‘ James Bond’

The small part (303-1484-1) is a adaptor which fits on to the end of the engine oil extraction tube fitted in the engine, then the suction pipe (303-1484) fits on to the adaptor, the illustration is taken from the L/R workshop manual and the numbers are those of the actual L/R kit for doing the job, if you google the numbers probably bring up pictures of the complete kit so you could see better.

Cheers
