I can beat that. Very Happy

Last year's AA premium was £149. Renewal this year they wanted £275. Shocked

I went onto their website, and sure enough, new sign-ups were around the £175 mark

Went onto the RAC website to find they were having a Bank Holiday sale - £108 for the same cover, and I could post date the start until the expiry of the current AA membership. Result! Signed up there and then.

You have to switch providers each year. Same as with car insurance, house insurance, pretty much any annually-renewed insurance.

Funny thing was, when I called the AA to stop the "auto renewal" (the REAL con here) they were most upset with me for not giving them a chance to cut their premium. "Should have quoted me a decent renewal price in the first place then" was my reply. Followed by "Bye", MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Good for you Thumbs Up that's exactly what I shall be doing. It just shows that the majority of customers do not shop around for any form of insurance or they would not be up to these tricks

My daughter works for the AA. A lot of the time people dont do anything and just let the policy auto renew. All of them do this, RAC, Green flag ect, Its not specific to the AA. If you phone them they always bring it back down.
What a lot of people don't know as well, is that Land Rover assist is run through the AA, they have their own office in my daughters building, and the new Izusu hybrid that the RAC are using are covered by the AA, so if the RAC trucks breakdown they have to call out the AA

Phoned them up to cancel & they brought the price down, I said no as they should have given me a better price to start with. Person I spoke with said the majority of customers do not query the price so there is no incentive to reduce prices unless someone complains. He then offered a lower price still with guarantee it would not rise the following year. It still wasn't as low as I can get it for, so bye bye AA

My AA renewal was stupid this year (like Wilf's), went online, checked new sign up then rang up to moan. Dropped it to within £2 of the online price so happy with that.

Been with AA for over 25 years and have to say I can't fault their service on the fortunately few times I've had to use them. They're great for motorbikes (from when I was couriering) and if you specify a flatbed for a recovery (4x4) they'll send it.

I took out AA recovery that covers me and any vehicle I'm in about 4 weeks ago. Only thing I didn't have was home start as not a problem if it's still sat on the drive. Online they quoted £128 but I wanted to confirm it would cover my van which is 3.5 ton or if they would say it's cars only so rang up and was told it's covered but they could see the RRS was insured with the AA so I would receive a discount on the break down cover.

They said if paid monthly i would be charged £3.50 each month so thinking this was a interest charge for instalments I said no thank you, I would just pay it outright at which point they said ok that's £35 for the year then.

I very happy with that but did think how can it drop from £128 to £35 a year. Someone is making lots of money somewhere as I'm sure a £35 they aren't loosing anything. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

Did you know we do breakdown?

Hey!

Just an FYI we do a comprehensive breakdown cover including Roadside Assistance, Onward Journey, Recovery, Home Start and EU cover... ours ranges from £44.95 to £115 is cheaper than those above with the same level of cover Smile difference between AA/RAC is rather than covering the driver who can drive any car, we cover the vehicle with any driver. So if just covering the one car or if multiple family members have cover you may find we save you a pretty penny!

Welcome to call in for a quote if you'd like one - 01635 874646
£44.95 cover is a specialist cover for insurance customers only, and given to 2nd vehicles, leisure vehicles, low mileage etc. (no vehicle age limit)
£90 cover is your standard mileage vehicles and daily drivers (vehicles up to 16 years old
£115 cover is your standard mileage vehicles and daily drivers (vehicles over 16 years old)

Consider the Nationwide Flex Plus account, £13 a month, no fees for overseas cash withdrawals, travel insurance, mobile phone insurance (just claimed on mine for a broken screen and for £25 excess it saved a £400 repair on a P30 Pro) plus full breakdown cover with Call Assist. Decent interest rates too plus a British building society Smile

G

P.S I don't work for them! Just a happy customer! (did the account switch as a referral from my dad and we both got £100 too)
