My 22”s are in getting powder coated just now but just got a call from the shop saying the first Tpms has snapped during removal on the first wheel.

Basically you just unscrew them, when refitting you only need to get a 12mm socket & tighten by hand holding the socket don’t let them over tighten them as they only need to be 4nm,if over tightened they can damage the rubber seal & they could leak. They do corrode over time & snap when removed as they are only alloy. Fit 4 new Stems now rather than a few hundred miles down the road. They aren’t expensive unless the 2014 Sport has a different system. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

If your VIN No.is after EA319923 provided your actual sensor is o.k you can buy a stem repair kit LR043162 from L/R for about £30.00 suitible to do all Five wheels.

Even the non changeable ones are available on eBay. I have 4 here, you undo that little screw. The whole system is still crap though, from materials to function. The old ford system is better and uses the same components! 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

& another word of advice,Don’t use the metal dust cap as they have a habit of reacting with the alloy/copper valve & then after time you cannot get them off without damaging the valve & cutting them off.I get at least 2 customers a week especially with mercs & beemers as they fit them standard. Andy.

Had the same with plastic caps. The proper ones are the grey ones with a sealing lip on the inside at the bottom to prevent water entering the shrader valve. The standard black plastic ones just don’t cut it but are better than the steel logo ones. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
