I use a set of thin long nose grips to hold the slider from spinning.

I think Iv'e got it now, if a 17mm spanner won't fit on the inner nut, use mole grips on it, not on the slider pin gator. |

Don’t put the grips on the gaiters as they could split,between the gaiter & the calliper their is enough to get a 17mm spanner or some thin grips like I use. Andy.
