Front brake slider pins

I'm going to be changing my front discs/pads shortly, and have decided that I'm going to replace the slider pins to eliminate any sticking as they're not that expensive.
Can anyone who has done this tell me how they are removed from the carrier (pics would be really useful), and do I use thread locking compound on them.
Thanks

Thanks for that Col, looks like they just pull out Thumbs Up Got Bods'y brake bible all ready to go.
Don't think I will be using mole grips on the rubber boot though.

I use a set of thin long nose grips to hold the slider from spinning.

I think Iv'e got it now, if a 17mm spanner won't fit on the inner nut, use mole grips on it, not on the slider pin gator. Thumbs Up

Don’t put the grips on the gaiters as they could split, between the gaiter & the calliper their is enough to get a 17mm spanner or some thin grips like I use. Andy.
