So a week into ownership and I have a strange problem.... at first I thought it was me, but a little testing seems not.

I walk to the car, place my hand on the drivers door handle and I can hear the relays work, indicators flash and all the doors unlock as they should..... except the drivers door itself, it seems that no matter what I do that door stays locked unless i reach in from the rear and operate the handle, at that point it open fine, no need to press another button or anything.

Any ideas?

It sounds like the motor in the latch (the larger one of the two). You can either replace the whole latch itself or try and clean the inside of the motor.

Here is a YouTube video on how to remove the latch from the door on a Disco and it's pretty much the same on the RRS...

Thanks for the info, thankfully it seems like a fairly cheap part even if it does need replacement!

Make sure you get a keyless latch if you are going to change the complete unit
