Tailglass stuck after using Tailgate

Hi folks

Tailglass wasn't working so I got myself a new switch and now it's working. But, when I now open and close the tailgate the tailglass will not work. If I take the trim off and click the latch then it works again but there must be a better way to fix this.

I've only been using tailglass for weeks now and I prefer that but I needed to use tailgate yesterday and now I can't use tailglass without taking trim off again and manually clicking the latch. Any ideas? Quite a lot of posts about tailglass but mostly about switches, which helped me a lot so far.

Cheers guys

Put your old switch back on again and see if the problem goes away (but it will bring back your original fault) that way you will no if it’s your new switch or a new issue. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

There's a sensor or pressure switch or something that stops you opening the glass when the tailgate is open. Work out how that operates and check that out just in case its thinking the tailgate is constantly open.

if you press the lock and unlock buttons on the dash together for 5 seconds that open the main tail gate.
Might save you taking the trim off

if the glass is open you should get a warning on the dash.

you could also program the LR fob button to do the tailgate.
That might prove if its the button or wiring etc

Thanks for the suggestions guys. My brother was replacing an EGR valve today ( well fiddly but a successs) and we had the battery off. Tailglass now working. Open tailgate and now tailglass not working. Disconnect battery and reconnect and working again.....so pointing to a sensor on the tailgate, I will investigate 2007 RRS 2.7 HSE (Current)

You do realise the software stops you opening them at the same time.
