Couple all of this with the farce that is the latest software release for ICTP..............no wonder Chinese customers were demonstrating outside of JLR Dealerships. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

I think if I had Chromaflair paintwork, the first step would be paint protection film as collecting stonechips would be a nightmare.
Paintwork would be a major undertaking & if you tried part exchange with stonechips, they would have your pants down Big Cry
Still looks brilliant though Thumbs Up

I think it is a really good example of just how low JLR’s quality control has fallen, if they even have any now. Land Rover hopes to compete with the likes of Bentley and Rolls Royce but neither of those companies would let a car with so poor a paint finish off the production area, let alone out of the factory. Paint finish like that isn’t acceptable on a £20,000 car let alone a £120,000 one. I doubt a Ford Fiesta would get off the production line with those paint defects.

Land Rover seems to be inconsistent though. My SVR was held at the port of California when they inspected it because it had a small chip in the carbon fiber bonnet near the vents, and the chip was the size of the tip of a ball point pen. And for that SVO created a brand new bonnet and shipped it over from the UK to make the car perfect. They also gave me the old bonnet which is hanging on my garage wall and looks pretty cool. I went over every square inch since I thoroughly detail it myself and it's perfect. I agree they should all be perfect regardless of the cost. 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR – Bosphorus Grey

The problem is people still buy them firm in the knowledge that it's a lottery as to whether their car will be fit for purpose or not.

Without wishing to sound rude, the OP bought a £100k car, and rejected it because it was crap (and now knows full well they are crap quality, and reads about the crap quality on forums etc)... so what did the OP do, he ordered another one! It beggars belief, it really does.

Until people stop buying them, JLR have no need to change and will carry on churning out substandard products. Neutral SOLD - MY16 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic - Fire Engine Red, Fixed contrast pan roof, TV, Dual Screen, 5+2, Privacy, Noble paddles.

I did buy a £100k car and reject it due to problems, Land Rover agreed to replace it at there cost so i thought whats the chances of having a second faulty one, yes it is a lottery as to if you get a bad one but there are people on here that have had no problems at all with there cars so i was hoping for a a good one as they can occasionally do it and when everything works its a brilliant car! 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR arrived but now rejected!

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I don’t think it is a lottery as in 30 years and 11 cars (8 of them factory orders, two taken from dealership stock and one an approved used car [my 1996 Defender]) of Land Rover buying and owning I have only had one car that gave any problems or had any faults on delivery. That was a 2014 Evoque that was delivered with inoperative In Control Secure but was otherwise faultless until I was an early receiver if a gearbox software update that quite obviously had not been very well bench tested before being released. It totally ruined a car that up till then had been faultless but after being told it must be how I drive the car and suffering a burned out DPF sensor every 10-14 days for 3 months I demanded the car be reset to the previous map which JLR declined to do and contended that despite my cars never doing commuter type driving or short trips it was still my fault............ the car was rejected at 9 months old and 7000 miles and I reverted to RRS ownership with my last faultless car. For sure Land Rover have dropped QC standards, even going into a dealership and looking at brand new cars on the show floor you can easily detect paint defects and poor interior finishing that should have been picked up before the end of the production line. As for the treatment that AHSFCA received, that would not happen in the home market, we would have to fight that we didn’t cause that sort of damage. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I think Lee is correct thinking "what are the chances of another bad one" The guy obviously loves the car so why would he not want a replacement There are thousands out there with happy owners. As I said before no one comes on saying their car is perfect. Forums are usually people asking advise or blaming the manufacturer.. Its the same as the broken crank issue, thousands out there with no problems. I sympathise with people with this problem & would be the first to scream if it happened to me. Lets face it if you bought a car going by forum reports, you would never buy anything. I hope Lee gets the resolution he wants.

Cheers mate, I just want a fault free car Sad I love the vehicle and have thought about what else i could get that i like the look of, drive etc more than the Range Rover and there is nothing out there. Completely agree with everything you said, there are a lot of fault free ones out there i just appear to be unlucky! The dealership are having it back in to do the paint defects, align the boot lid correctly and investigate the non starting issue but touch wood its been fine today! 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR arrived but now rejected!

I agree Lee nothing compares I also have looked. You have options as you know hopefully it comes back perfect to you and then you have the perfect car you expected.

I must say mine is faultless I can’t find a single defect in the paint and no software bugs to report have faith give them one chance to fix it.

Failing that get them to replace it again and until it turns up you keep the one you have.

Are you happy with your fixed side steps ? Are they the Land Rover official ones ?

I hope it comes back perfect as I’ve waited 12 months for them to build this after rejecting the first one, really don’t want to wait another 12 months!

I’m really pleased yours is faultless, I ordered my first one at the same time as Paul (SVR575) and his was faultless too!

I never had the fixed side steps on my first one but have the land river fixed steps on this one, more for looks that purpose but they are very good and do come in handy, would recommend getting them Thumbs Up 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR arrived but now rejected!

Same here mine has been great since took delivery last July. Ok yes there were some 'snags' lets call them, but i just waited until there was enough on the list to then arrange to put into get fixed this past week…nothing serious enough to get worked up on for me;

- rubbing boot lid , made a noise every time was opened: now fixed
- overhead roof 'hand gesture' didn't work, replaced with new sensor: now fixed
- activity key strap link broke: replaced with new activity key: now fixed

Ok 'occasionally' ive noticed a delay to all the screens turning on after started car, its happened a few times but not enough for me to raise yet. if happens again i will take it back to get looked at

With anything new, there is always going to be a snag or two but you just hope its nothing major like some have had. Thus far, have been really pleased with mine and hope it continues Smile

Sorry to hear about the issues above and hope you get all fixed quickly Thumbs Up MY18 Range Rover Sport SVR (18' - current)

Just picked up my 2019 SVR replacement and this one has paint defects along with the same fault with the heated seat setting being displayed in the temperature dial! Trouble is will they be able to respray the Madagascar orange paint to match!!

Also the 2019 is much quieter than my 2018! Sounds like a normal 5.0 supercharged, definitely needs an exhaust!!

This is what I was affraid of..its because of the new regulations and PPF. Do you have any idea what exhaust to put on? Or what modification to do? I should collect in 2 weeks.

Beware! If you change the exhaust you’ll lose the warranty on the car... MY19 5.0SC Dynamic AB - Boss Grey, Black Pano Roof, 22” Gloss Black Alloys, Ebony/Ivory Massage Seats, Carbon Fibre Finishers, HUD, DTV and the all important Cabin Ionisation...

Apparently you only lose the warranty on the exhaust which is fair enough, it definitely needs an exhaust as sounds like a standard 5.0 supercharged at the moment! 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR arrived but now rejected!
