2019 Madagascar Orange SVR collection

Mark on the drivers door in the center of the pic down to bare metal

Mark on the rear bumper and also a line in the paint

Passenger side door not to bad

Drivers side finish is terrible, surely it should look like the passengers side!

Just picked up my 2019 SVR replacement and this one has paint defects along with the same fault with the heated seat setting being displayed in the temperature dial! Trouble is will they be able to respray the Madagascar orange paint to match!!

Also the 2019 is much quieter than my 2018! Sounds like a normal 5.0 supercharged, definitely needs an exhaust!!

Also another item the gap on the right hand side of the boot is a lot bigger than the left! 2018 Range Rover Sport SVR arrived but now rejected!

Paint defects a good detailer will correct ?

I collect mine tomorrow I had a my17 before I hope the sound doesn’t disappoint otherwise a exhaust fix will be required quickly.

Cant wait to see some pics.

Madagascar isn’t a Chromaflair paint that “changes” colour depending on the daylight (TVR’s were common in Chromaflair as were some Nissans in the early 1990’s) so touching up shouldn’t be a problem - I assume yours is high gloss not satin/matte finish which would be............ a high quality detailers might be a better bet to rectify the defects than the apprentices at your local dealership though.
There is an L405 in Madagascar in this area and it looks great on a sunny day. Photo from an iPhone so i’m Sorry that it has fallen over.

2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

This is what I was affraid of..its because of the new regulations and PPF. Do you have any idea what exhaust to put on? Or what modification to do? I should collect in 2 weeks.

Hi Tim, it is a chromaflair paint as confirmed on SVO website and it changes from a light red, through to gold, through to orange depending on light.

Hi Lee. God its not too bad is it ? Easily sorted.

Have a play with the seat heating it does usually return but sometimes seems to take a while.
It looks fantastic and i wish you all the best with it.

LR needs to change the configurator then as that was where I got the info about paint type - good luck with getting it sorted as I think even in areas less visible it is hugely difficult to repair. At one time insurance companies wouldn’t cover Chromaflair piaint because it was basically a complete car respray to fix a damaged panel. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi Paul,

The seat heating only happens on the driver programs screen, if you turn the seat on then leave it it will go back to temperature as it should but if you switch it back manually then after 30 secs it reverts to the heated seat setting.

Not sure if the paint is easily fixable as worried about it not matching so just debating wether to live with it even though i shouldn't have too!

I got in it this morning and the drivers seat went all the way up to full height then all the way forward practically crushing me!! I have registered this with the dealership but will have to see if it does it again!

Thanks

Some pretty amazing colours in SVO colour scheme. Would need to bubble wrap the car when leaving it parked Rolling with laughter

I think it is a really good example of just how low JLR’s quality control has fallen, if they even have any now. Land Rover hopes to compete with the likes of Bentley and Rolls Royce but neither of those companies would let a car with so poor a paint finish off the production area, let alone out of the factory. Paint finish like that isn’t acceptable on a £20,000 car let alone a £120,000 one. I doubt a Ford Fiesta would get off the production line with those paint defects. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
