Mine has an electrically heated front screen and its an 06. Is that not standard on later ones? Get a 2005-2009 RRS (FAH500210) sat nav/dash mat here - the one that wasn't there when you bought the car.

It should have the heated front screen.

As stated above, they are fitted with a heated front screen as standard for that trim, a switch in central console on Mk1s and facelift 2011-2013 also fitted on MK2s (current models) as well. John

Yes I got the heated screen, but was talking about the 'blower', which directs warm air to the windscreen and side vents for the side windows. Is it possible to run this hot, without the air con on?

Yes it is, On the 2011-2013 MK1 facelift models and I presume earlier, the fan speed on the A/C & Climate switch, the outer ring turns round and adjusts the fan speed to whatever you want, (even with A/C on you can alter fan speed to), if you turn off A/C & Climate, set your temperature to Hot or 30+C or whatever, this will run hot without said systems switched on. Hope that helps. John

One wonders why one would not just run climate control... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

As you say, Thumbs Up I thought similar and always found that was the quickest way if steamed up. Must have a reason why not, and using the recirculate button assists even quicker clearing using climate control. Confused

I agree. The climate control will help remove moisture from the air (hence the water you sometimes see dripping underneath the car), so surely the quickest way is to use hot, recycled, climate controlled air. Leave the air con on. Thumbs Up Smile Robin

Well you can just turn the Econ button on which turns the aircon compressor off and switch the outlets to to upper dash (defrost) turn the fan up and turn the heat up - bit like the good old days before aircon - the RRS can do it that way.

I always have the climate control on and it does its thing but if cold the system may have the aircon compressor off and the windows can fog up with some heavy breathers in the car but then I just hit the "Prog Defrost" button which brings everything on line a clears the windows in quick time.

If in doubt read the handbook Cool

Think it was only the earlier RRS1 that had the "Econ" button.

Prog Defrost on my 2008 RRS turns on both front and rear screen heater elements and directs the a high air flow to the front screen. All at the push of just one button. Robin
