Been looking at RRS over last few days and was wondering why the rear range rover writing on the tail gate is on different places?

Also any tips on what to look for when buy g would be appreciated. Looking for 2011 RRS

The 2005 to 11 had a 2 piece tailgate and the wording was along the very bottom of the tailgate. In 2012MY (sept 2011 I think) the tailgate became a 1 piece remote opening unit and the wording was moved to above the number plate. Some people with the earlier 2 piece tail gate wanted the look of the later 2012MY one piece tail gate and a few companies made a kit to give that impression. The silver bar running across the 1 piece gate on the 2012 has to be higher on the earlier 2 piece gate so the wording correspondingly also moves up an inch or so.

In addition, for the MY2010 facelift, the green Landover badge on the left hand side of the tailgate was removed.

A bit of history - Around 2010 JLR tried to make Range Rover a “brand” in the JLR stable and removed the LR oval insignia from the tailgate and the wheel centres on all models of Range Rover - they also changed the branding on dealership showrooms to show Land Rover and Range Rover as separate brands............. they kind of overdid the RR badging and many owners and people posting here slagged off JLR for “milking the name” for all it could (not a lot has changed either!). So now the face lifted showrooms just have Jaguar and Land Rover branding on them and the Range Rover vehicles have minimal LR ovals stuck on them. IIRC my 2011 Evoque had something like 13 Land Rover and Range Rover logos on it, part of the cost reductions at JLR the number of logos has been reduced! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
