Hi Sally, could your Hubby share with us how he managed to do this please - or PM me?

This the only thing that I have found wanting on my MY18 too.

Cheers

Once Steve is happy that there are no ill effects from the hack then will PM the procedure . Have been running over two weeks with no issues 😉 It’s very easy and can revert to standard at any time within a couple of mins .

It is awesome having the charisma of my 2015 SVR in my new one at last . You will love it 😊 2012 Evoque

The MY18 are different to the original. The new actuators are controlled by a PCM signal to vary the degree of opening.

Sally - have you/hubby considered adding a 12v remote controlled relay so you can switch between normal operation and Sally mode?

Philmw we could tell that the valves opening were varied as soon as we started driving it home from SVO which was so disappointing as we preferred the full opening vs full closed strategy / control that the early SVR’s employed .

If a MY18 is your first SVR then you know no different but having owned an early one and when the exhaust button is on, you get “full on” Then the new SVR decides then when you press the button you run through a committee first that’s decides when you get full opening of the valves ! Big big let down . Very frustrating and thankfully a thing of the past .

Our first SVR was always in loud mode anyway so we are totally happy with where we are at with this one . I know Steve won’t want to molest the with vehicles wiring anyway . Like I mentioned before this hack has been non invasive with an easy reversion to standard 😉 2012 Evoque

Hi Sally,

How did you get on with this?

The MY2018 is so completely quiet, very minor pops compared to my MY2016.

It's really disappointing. The Mercedes now sounds better than the SVR.

Is it basically ECU controlled down to RPM and load from the engine? 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE

The other thing Dynamic mode offers is the ability to select and hold a gear near the rev limit or through a corner for maximum chassis control, rather than it deciding you really ought to be changing up near the limiter which it still will do when just in Sport mode.

For maximum benefit, run it in Sport and select Dynamic; They drift lovely then..... Whistle

Drifting and the previous SVR 2016 i have is something i get very frustrated with. If i turn the traction off (ESP) in dynamic it still kicks albeit slightly less than if it is on. Is there a way to turn it completely off?

I have a 2018/19 SVR on order and headed to the factory on the 16th of November to view it. Question i have is this model a little more libertarian than the previous model? All i want to be able to do really is turn it all off when appropriate... 2019 Urban Urus - May Delivery. Gone to the dark side...

I would love to know too. I heard a MY16 drive past on Sunday and when I got into my MY18 my heart sunk.

Shame on you Landrover Censored

The older SVR's sounded amazing Mr. Green

I have heard a MY18 SVR too and there nothing like the old beasts, but nothing that a exhaust mod wouldn't fix Thumbs Up

But I guess that will be the next Mot test fail if you mess with the exhausts for more sound !! Censored

I am not too worried about mine getting through an MOT - will worry about that when the time come.

In the meantime, does any body have a mod for an MY18 that can make it sound as good as the previous SVRs which they can actually share?

Cheers

You could always take the middle box out, that will make it sound better, mine has the middle box & resonator removed.

No middle box removal required . The exhaust on the autobiography isn’t the same as the svr .

Unplug the active valves Thumbs Up . Keeps them open all the time- ergo exactly the same as the previous my cars. 2019 Svr and 2019 R35 GTR
