United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Santorini Black
ARC leakage

Bought a Range Rover Sport 2010 a few months ago. I've had a couple of issues fixed and now the red warning light has come on telling me to stop the car. After a £400 diagnosis from LR, they have said it's the Rear Arc bar leaking and the ARC directional valve. diagnosis and repair £3600 WTF seriously.. why oh why didn't I listen to people telling me not to get one!! Any hints on best place to buy these parts as LR want £1800 for ARC bar alone?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Gary

OEM aftermarket ARC bar would be £700+vat

find a local indy to do the job and you'll half that repair cost. Sophie Alltoft

The directional valve is quite simple so don’t know why it should fail.

Is it the ARB that’s failed or the pipe? Have you noticed any oil drops on the drive? Was the reservoir empty? 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

The Direction Control Valve is part of the valve block, and is not a serviceable item...

The issue with replacing the block, is the pipes have to be removed. If they are rusty/corroded and brittle, they may rupture during the repair, and need replacing in addition...

AS Dan says, an OEM ARC actuator is around £700 + VAT
The valve block is £550 + VAT

And all told, I'd allow a days work, but brace you for needing the pipework replacing at the same time...

Mine spewed all its oil out on the driveway, had all this replaced by Land Rover. Thankfully with a Warranty in place but as the above have said, try Advanced Factors for the OEM parts. Its also a partial rear body lift to remove the rear arc bar too due to space limitations 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black
