I may be wrong and so happy to be corrected. But I had always understood the rule was you could not put a plate on a car so as to make it seem younger, but you can put an older plate on your car, eg mine is a 61 plate so anything earlier would be ok but later not ?

The seller admits it is a 2008 car. Even if the cock up mentioned happened surely the correct remedy was issue of a correct age related plate, I assume an 08/58, but certainly not a 63 ?

I used to own a Steyr Puch Haflinger that started out life as a "dealer demonstrator" run on Trade Plates. Only when it was registered with the DVLA a few years later prior to sale by the dealer did it get proper plates, and these were correct for the year of first registration, not of build date.

It’s not the first time this card been on eBay. It was on a little while back.

DVLA do make mistakes. My Dad is a retired police man and was telling me they found an unregistered 1978 Fod Escort in a Police House garage at the Force HQ.

When it was registered with DVLA they thought it was an error and it was registered as a 1999 T plate not a 1978 T plate. And that was owned by and sold on by the police. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)
