I'm hope some of the Italian members can give some advice on this bureaucratic mess.

I exported my RR Sport from Principality of Monaco to Italy to be sold to my Italian friend. The ACI are pretty clear as to the import and registration process:

The problem is arising when we get to the local offices of the Civil Motorization who say that the car cannot be registered in Italy at all. I re-contacted ACI and they have stated clearly that there should be no problem registering the car. I've since returned to the Civil Motorization who requested that the original registration documents be 'Apostille' by the issuing country. This has now been done, but the Civil Motorization are very adamant that the car cannot be registered in Italy.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Ciao Tumshie, I have been working mainly in the UK for the past 2 years, and bought my RRS there last year. I will return to Italy in December/January and am thinking of bringing my UK registered RRS with me. The car is already registered on my name, and I will just need to move my residency (currently AIRE UK) back to Italy when home. I am aware that I can circulate in Italy with UK registration for max 12 months, but seen that bureaucracy is a bit slow in Italy, thought I should start the import process when arriving in Italy ... Can you please advise how to do it best? Would Motrizzazione Civile be best or just a local Agency?
