I even noted a slighty mileage improve , 0.3-0.4 l/100km , with an AT tyre!! ...less rolling mass and less unsprung weight . IMO it is a win win choice .

Exactly that, all the capabilities of the sport and yet one pot hole and your 22s are cracked and your rubber bands flat! As I`ve said before, not everyone buys a Sport to use it off road...they don`t HAVE to be taken off road. I bought mine for a number of reasons and my nice "shiny 22`s" suit me fine...even with the local potholes/speedbumps. Horses for courses...but I know which I prefer! Steve.

Yes definitely the BF KO2s undecided on 265 60s or 265 65s yet, but strong sidewalls and also winter rated Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

If you looking for an offroad bias in your usage definitely go then BFGs - a little noisy but wear well, have reasonable onroad grip and good offroad grip - a bit expensive though.

I have Nitto Terra Grappler G2 A/T 265/60R18 and they are a great tyre - an AT but quieter than the BFGs, better onroad grip but maybe not as good as the BFGs in the mud.

There are options to the BFGs but comes down to what your primary usage is going to be.

I'm with you guys on this, I upgraded from the standard 20" to 19" and haven't looked back! 22" rims might look cool, but EVERYTHING else about them is a negative... You can't see the eyes of the demon until him come callin'

MOAB 18 inch

I am now looking to move to 18" on my sport, i have found i get through to many tyres
on 19", standard ATR's are just not ballsy enough for Australian off road conditions Laughing

i have just found these MOAB 18" being offered next to the Compomotive on their website
and are very similar in look Whistle

however i am not sure if they are rated for the Sport, but if they are, it provides an
alternative, will do a bit more research

Thumbs Up will take a look

update: Been in touch with Tuff ANt, and they are a direct fit, set of 6 is $1350 AUD
which is a great price. They recommended the BFG KO2 or the Bridgestone D697 AT's.
I was wondering whether these both have sufficient speed and load rating for the
3 litre oil burner, the tyre manufacturer's website is a bit devoid of that data/facts

Can anyone enlighten me on the suitability of either tyre choice

In load rating the BF Goodrich KO2 are classed as LT or Light Truck tyres, designed for vehicles capable of carrying heavy loads or towing large trailers. The 60 profile has a 116 rating which in 1250kg and the 65 profile is 117 so 1285kg.

I believe the normal rating for a Range Rover Sport is 106 so 950kg.

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

BFG AT’s have incredible mileage capabilities - the OEM set I had on my Defender ran to 68,000miles and still had 5mm tread all round. I changed them only because they had become less grippy offroad but I was able to sell them on to a guy who had a Defender that he didn’t take offroad at all, it was his work truck. I did find that the next generation AT’s I bought were quite noisy on the road and as my off-roading was getting more serious I took them off and put on a set of BFG MT’s which look like new despite 20,000 miles and 7 years use and they seem to have negligible effect on fuel consumption as well as i’m Returning 27-29 mpg most of the time unless I spend a whole weekend in low ratio offroad

There is one thing to remember with winter coming on - AT’s, and especially MT’s, are horrrendous on icy roads and a proper winter tyre is much better for that seasonal use. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Cheers Thumbs Up i keep thinking of 109 and H or higher spec for some reason Smile car is in storage
but i can take a look on Thursday when i arrive back in Sydney ..

I am likely to go for the TUff Ant 18" steels in black with KO2's 265/60, but not until March
