Strange experience driving yesterday

I was going to a job interview yesterday and decided to take the RRS as it had been laid up for 2 weeks. I set off for the 34 mile trip and it was apparent that something wasn’t quite right. When I applied the throttle coming off roundabouts & going up hills there was virtually no acceleration with black haze coming out the back, to the extent I was holding up the train of cars behind me Embarassed . After a few seconds the car then took off (the feeling of kick down during normal driving) and away she went, the haze then stopped once this happened, but the symptoms returned after each acceleration period.

Anyway arrived and did the interview, started the car to go home and everything was perfectly normal, acceleration and response, zero smoke. Wife took the car this morning and reported that everything was fine. No symbols shown.

Strange but I’m glad it’s back to normal now. Must not lay up the car in future.

usually a split in the thick/big turbo hoses (on drivers side) get blamed for this. (many example pics on here)

or a split in the intercooler get blamed for this.

Not known them self repair though

Yeah that’s what I thought, hose or EGR. But hey ho there is now no trace of a fault, drives really well.
