Hello all,

I have a 2009 (MY10) RRS 3.0 TDV6.

It currently has 20" wheels (275/40/20 tyres) and I previously had an older model RRS with 19" wheels (255/50/19) so know that will fit.

I am contemplating putting 18" wheel on it and want to check the best tyre size.

Does Land Rover recommend a particular profile on this size?

Has anyone put 18" wheels on an RRS and if so, what tyre size did you run? I am thinking specifically for winter tyres, so a thinner profile would probably be preferable in my case.

Hi Kevin,to be honest I don’t think 18’s will clear the front calipers,some 19’s also don’t clear.The only 19’s that clear are certain LR Oe wheels

it looks like the offset is 44 but i think its 53 for my wheels.

what tyres would you run on the compomotive wheels?

I recently changed the 20" rims and the same size tyres to the LR 18" inch rims and BFG 265/60R18.
After a lot of reading and talking with some people that went the same path, if you have Brembos you need the Compomotive rims.
I have the normal brakes so i could go with a second hand ones.

With the 265/60R18 you don't have to modify anything, no rubbing at any height and the spare fits inflated without any mods required.

I use BFG 265/60 R18 AT KO2 , great tyre , no too much noise , good all around grip and a proper sidewall ...now I don´t have fear to potholes , kerbs , roots , etc...They are lighter and stronger than stock (rim and tyre combo too)
By the way , my tyres are extrem snow rated

On the 2010 RRS you should be using

245/55/18 As a direct replacement for the standard 275/40/20

This is only +1 1 revolution per mile out
as opposed to 265/60/18 being 43 less with this oversized wheel & tyre combination..

You can change the tire diameter with IID tool and the speedo will read has per normal, around 5 kph more then the GPS.

LR does not have the 265/60 legal in Portugal so i had to get them engineered.

There are people running 265/65 R18 but some have experienced some rubbing and the plastic in the spare wheel spot needs to come out or deflate the tire to fit.

IMO 13mm difference is not worth the hassle.

As rangemogger said BFG very quiet and a good all round tire.

You can go bigger but you need lift rods.

What is the purpose or benefit of changing to 18 inch ? Does it for example improve ride (which is excellent on 20 inch anyway) ?

Do those 2 inches really make a difference ?
