Removing front nearside driveshaft from 2007 2.7tdv6 in order to change outer cv joint. Reason for whole shaft removal is outer cv is proving very stubborn to get off shaft so thought it would be easier in vice. All undone but trying to lever at diff end and it's not budging. Was gonna give it a bit more welly but thought I would check that I am not missing anything!

My off side was a night mare to get off i thought i was going to break something with the effort i put in as long as you are on something solid like chassis or lower arm it should be ok

Hi Geoff, finally got it off. but i have knackered the tin dust cover thing that covers the oil seal! I have removed the oil seal itself and are looking for best place to get one tomorrow but where can i get the tin seal thing from?

Right, changed intercooler + cv joint. Drive shaft still in vice as i am still trying to locate the tin dust shield! It appears to be part of the actual drive shaft and is peined on the diff side. I managed to damage it levering shaft out of diff. Doe's anybody happen to have a scrap shaft and wouldn't mind levering the dust shield off for me? i am willing to pay of course! The car is stuck in my shared drive until i get this part!
