Loving my P400e

4 days in and I am loving the P400e
Very responsive and smooth change between petrol and electric
Average 45mpg over first 300 miles which has included city, motorway and country driving.
Not so sure that 31 miles with a full charge is achievable in EV mode without a very light right foot, probably nearer to 25
The mpg seems to be around 30 ish on the motorway which isn't too bad
I can do my daily commute in full electric so that suits me with a charger at home and at work
I like the Deezer integration with 'On Line Media' although would be better with Spotify or Tidal
So, so far so good Smile

Enjoy Thumbs Up

Funny how they put the bigger brakes on to the P400 and not the more powerful 3.0d

Maybe the P400e weighs more due to the motor and battery so needs the bigger anchors over the 3.0 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Really pleased to hear you’re enjoying the car...should have mine by the end of the month (fingers crosed). Was interested in your observations about Deezer (I have a family subscription). How does the integration work? Is it baked in as an app or do you connect a device either through USB or Bluetooth?

Also, can you use the use the LR remote app to control the charge times on your home charger or do you set the times from car itself?

Any info gratefully received!

Cheers

You have to put a sim card in the car to use the live services inc 'online media'
Deezer is integral to 'online media' and works very well showing all your added artists, albums etc
You link your Deezer account to the In Control account on the Land Rover website
No need to use Bluetooth or USB connection

The timed charging facility and preconditioning are set from within the vehicle and not with the remote App
The settings are under 'Departure Times'

Not funny, just useful. Thumbs Up
If a car accelerates quicker and is heavier, it’s logic to me.

Power itself it’s not just NM and RPM, it’s all together. At least the 3.0 diesel can be faster driven, but it won’t be the same mass to stop at similar speeds.

Its funny because up until the MY17 the car had bigger brakes but for the My18 they went smaller Evil or Very Mad

I think it had something to do with almost 95% of RRS developing a brake squeak and so far the MY18 is squeakless. Will be interesting to see if the Tdv8 and P400 which come with the bigger brakes experience the brake squeak issue.

AB, lovely looking motor, glad that you are enjoying the PHEV experience too. Which model is it HSE, HSED or Autobiography?

Regarding the 31 miles - it may not be achievable as that is the range based on being able to utilise every bit of charge in the battery until it is flat. If you ran it that low, just like a 12v battery, it would never recharge so the makers only allow you to to go down to between 3 and 5% charge depending on the maker and their software writers, it’s to protect the battery. My car’s manual states that it has a usable range of 26 miles (depending on weather and driving style) which is 95% of the battery’s actual capacity. You will hopefully find out in your owner’s manual if the 31 miles is claimed / actual range or 100% capacity nominal range.

I have found a great function in the BMW system - it is called Green mode - and it is configurable by the driver. The configurablity isn’t huge and basically allows you to become a total eco-warrior by switching off the climate control iso that you get no heating or cooling and no audio system to save on power consumption (I like my creature comforts too much to want to configure it tonthise settings - i’m Still in training to be a total tree hugger Laughing ). Otherwise in basic green mode it re-maps the throttle response and forces the car to hold on to higher gears whether in battery or petrol mode and it enables what BMW calls recuperation of energy (to everyone else it is regenerative braking!) and it enables coasting/ freewheeling and regeneration at the same time - it work extremely well when using the cruise control and last night coming home from Edinburgh on a clear motorway at 70mph it was able to top up the drive battery by 50% over 30 miles mostly on a slight down gradient - very useful! Once I had 75% charge in the battery I was able to switch over to AutoE+Green mode and run the rest of the way home on battery power still at 70 on the motorway and 60 on the A roads. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I am used to the variations in achievable range having had an XC90 T8 for last two years
