Can vouch for that, just back from my dealer no MY18s. Earliest delivery on a MY19 is towards end of October and with the PX on mine at that time I can't bridge the gap - another priced out of a new RRS.

Have put my name down on a Top spec Velar subject to a successful 48 hour test next week. The Velar delivery will be mid September and they are basically giving me £4.5k more for my PX against Velar compared to the RRS. Only decision left on the Velar subject to liking it is colour Fuji with black roof and black pack or Santorini with black pack.

I agree with the sentiments of yourself and of Tim. It's not that I cannot afford a new RRS, but I am not prepared to pay the price that JLR are charging for the new models. I really do not believe it is value for money. However, my solution was to order a MY19 Jaguar F-Pace, due for delivery in early September. Reasonably similar spec to my current RRS, same ICTP as new RRS but a much more affordable £57,000. They certainly seem to hold their price better than an RRS and are more fun to drive on the road, which is where my old car spent 98% of its time.

So, its goodbye from me, and goodbye from him!

Don’t know why you think it will hold its value better. Looking at PCPs, the GMV at 3 years seems to be far better on Land Rover models than it is on Jaguars. That’s one thing that always put me off buying a new Jag (my previous 3 were bought used), the depreciation, whereas Land Rover is one of the lowest depreciating marques. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

Ive been told that the MY18 facelift is the last of the “big” cosmetic changes on the RRS...the new FFRR model will be launched sometime in Q1 2020 followed by the RRS sometime in Q4 2020 or Q1 2021.

The Bloomberg article regards moving production of the Disco to Slovakia - maybe by year end - means they would have time to re-tool the factory for mass producing the new FFRR in 2020 whilst maintaining production of the L405 & L494 in the meantime. We can presume the new RR platform will offer a much better way to house the EV batteries (instead of having to lose boot space and spare tyre). But what look will they go for on the outside? Hopefully build on tradition and not go tooooo radical. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

On the looks front I hope that they have learned a lesson from Velar and Disco5. Both cars get a fair bit of adverse comment about body styling and, especially with FFRR, they will not want to upset the very conservative customer base for their flagship model - they quickly backpedalled on all the bling that was added to L322 at the 2011 facelift and most of it disappeared for L405. They also have to make room at Solihull for the production of the Defender replacement that is supposed to be launched in 2019/2020. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thats highly annoying lol, my car is going to maybe be built one week before yours and its an MY18.

They have it pegged for the final week of June if it doesn't get delayed again.

... if it does get delayed, does it become an MY19 car or do they just keep building MY18 cars until they run out of bits.

Decision made, after two days and 300 miles in a Velar R Dynamic HSE 300D we have robbed the bank and ordered another RRS.

RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6, Santorini, sliding pano, black glass, ebony/ivory, ebony headlining and adaptive cruise. Dealer did well to get a car for first week September delivery so the px is good on the current car.

Totally blown the budget but just could not justify spending money on a Velar - can't wait until September!

Tony 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. Arrived 3rd September 2018
2015 MY16 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, ebony/cirrus, sliding pano, cameras, black wheels - Arrived 1 October 2015

Well done Tony!

What was wrong with the Velour?

We should both be collecting cars from the same dealer at about the same time!
