2005 Range Rover sport 4.2 v8 supercharged missfire issue

Right guys I really need help I’ll start off with I got the car cheap so fort I’d have try to fix if not I’ll break it but hear goes the old owner said it went in for mot and it ran out of fuel and ever since then it has been missfireing and reduced proformance and goes slow up hills or if u put to much gas on it it feels like it’s running out of fuel I had it read 2s now 21 was independent Land Rover said had miss fire so I changed the plugs Still same issue I noticed 1 coilpack had been changed so change that 1 and I know friend who works for Maserati so he did read on his code reader and said had missfire 2468 but when he reved the car I noticed that bits of the cat was coming out of the driver side exhaust and was spitting it all out has I drove home after that I. Didn’t get the engine light on all way home 40miles when got home I got under the car and give it a light tap on the cat and u can here it all broke would this cause the low proformance or is it limp mode causing it I’ve bought new fuel pump and filter for in the tank but not yet fitted as fort with it running out of fuel it might of pulled some shot threw the filter causing it to miss fire. But unsure any body else got any ideas of the symptoms all wat comes up is intermate miss fire on them cylinders if u put ur foot lightly on pedal it will gradually get up to speeds 50mph + if u put it on to soon that’s when seems get missfire and sometimes get a flashing engine light for few seconds I also changed the pcv valve for new 1 as fort it was leaking as can hear a hiss so changed that and still can hear it but not sure weather it’s ment to be like that thanks

If it ran out of fuel it may be a fuel pump but it sounds like the cat may have collapsed and blocked the silencers. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

The emissions controls will be trying to adjust the mixture to get the emissions right which is probably why you have the misfire. Sounds like you will need two new cats as given the age of the car the other side might be worn out if unburned fuel has gone down it. It might cost more than the car is worth to rectify the problem as replacement cats are not cheap. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

yeah I was thinking that.

remove the CAT, knock the inside out the best you can till bits stop coming out.

remove the rest of the exhaust, to get bits out.

refit and drive, see what its like

Yea I gutted the drivers side as that was the 1 wat was making a noise still was same after gutted it so I changed pump and filter today and that didn’t work so got Censored off and was gonna break it until I fort I’ll just do the other side and as I was cutting into it it was like sand trickling out all the cat and half was blocked up etc. But I think Iknow the actual cause why it had done it when I did the pump there was only 1 pipe connected to the filter witch didn’t take any notice of until I installed the new 1 we had pipe not connected to anything so who ever done it hadn’t connected the pipe properly I don’t think to the filter hence the missfires to cause cats to go bad and then that caused bad cats so after reinstalling pump was same reduced proformance until I gutted the other cat and now she runs perfect and sounds awesome 😎 only problem I have now is there’s piece cat in the last centre box witch might have chopped out and straight pipes done to it oh and noticed my centre prop shaft bearing has gone so looking for tips on how replace that and if an easy inuf job thanks for all ur help thow
