Evening All,

Apologies if this has been posted about before or is in the wrong category. Was an active member on MBclub.co.uk but moved to an RRS now so am discovering the unique niceties of the car.

Anyway, I’ve had the above message twice, both whilst on the motorway and in pretty warm conditions and it’s resulted in reduced power until I switch off and let it cool down. I’m in France at the moment and it’s pretty warm on the way here so happened on the way which resulted in around 150km of pretty slow motoring. As I say I think both times it’s happened its been pretty hot so not sure if this comes into play anywhere.

Last time it happened I was in the UK and luckily my dad has a garage and I’ve got access to some SnapOn test gear which gave me a pretty general which was...

When the faulty occurs I get the red warning triangle on the dash which even when the fault clears stays illuminated and warns me on switch on, which also to gets on my nerves!

Does anyone have any pointers or if not does anyone know a sensible specialist in South East London who may be able rectify without fobbing me off?

Had the same thing with a tuning box on my disco3 but if i restarted it cleared the fault so binned the box

I have the exact same problem - as soon as it is 32-33 degrees outside I get the engine fault and also read the same error code from the iidtool. I always get it whilst just driving along at 50~70km/h.

Sometimes waiting for 5 minutes is enough, but sometimes it would come back after a few minutes of driving. Haven't found a permanent solution unfortunately.

I don't have a remap or tuning box, but I thought it might be related to the ECM overheating?

Hmmmm thanks. Will need to have a look under the hood to see if I can see anything that looks added. Any ideas typical location.

Yup that’s what happens to me too. Not had the car long so unsure about tuning etc but symptoms are the same. First time cleared straight away but when coming over to France was warm on mo day so despite a 15 minute stop the error came back pretty quickly. Can still get decent speed but as soon as you hit a hill you’re in trouble!!!!

It’s a pretty annoying gremlin.

Interestingly, I did several hours reasonably fast this morning no problems and then switched on cruise control and within minutes the problem occurred again.

I wonder if there is an unhappy map and it’s upsetting the cruise control computer.

You might be on to something. I remember that the last time I had the issue I was also driving with cruise control on - if it ever gets warm enough again, I'll try to see if using cruise control makes a difference.

Drove the rest of the way back from France without cruise and no problems whatsoever so maybe the answer is not to use cruise control........slightly angling as I use it quite a bit but not the end of the world I suppose.
