Air Conditioning Filter

After reading a scare story in the press about germs accumulating in car air conditioning filters .... and recommending the cleaning of the filter regularly I wonder what the members here think about it.

Do land Rover do this as part of the annual service or is it something I have to request ?

Thank you for the replies.
I will mention it to the service manager when the car goes in on June 11th for it's four year service.

The OP is really referring to the problem of microbial growth that can occur throughout the car's ventilation system. Apart from smelling unpleasant, it is believed some microbes have the potential to cause infection or allergic reactions.

Changing the cabin filter (always user an activated carbon version) is essential but to eliminate odours and kill the microbes, an air conditioning 'bomb' should be deployed at the same time. Something like the Comma product linked to here will do the trick:

Ach, the only thing guaranteed to 100% kill you is being born in the first place.

Buying an RRS is a close second at 99.9% rounded Smile.

Has anyone ever suffered through a dodgy pollen filter or wonky screenwash ?
