Well i took the backboxes off yesterday it was just the right difference made that i wanted. Doesnt sit idling like a tractor. Just a nice deeper tone to the way it was factory. But its when you get up the rev range and you get to really hear that v8 sound! Sounds just like an american v8 petrol!

So in conclusion if you have the TDV8 ....Do this!!

Do you still have your mid box?

Removed the centre box on mine, so it's just essentially piework from the cats back now right to the exit.

On tickover, it's got a nice deep throbbing V8 sound, akain to an English Electric CS12V engine. Driving round town it's noticeable, but subtle and then when you want to get a shift on it sounds superb for a diesel!

The bore of the pipework you'll need is 54mm πŸ‘

Zero drone and zero intrusion in to the cabin when cruising at any speeds πŸ‘

No problem. This is on a TDV8, the turbos and cats offer good sound deadening and resonance reduction.

On a petrol V8, you might want to keep the small rear silencers on each side if you’re removing the center boxes and also add an X-pipe to balance the exhaust πŸ‘

Mine is also a TDv8, I was planning on leaving the back pipes as they are only resonators, and replacing the mid-box with straight pipes.
