Hi Guys
Got my first RRS this week and loving it but the standard 20" wheels weren't cutting it, so today i purchased and installed some Ubran 22" CSR wheels but it has pushed the ride of the car up considerably to the point where it looks like a roller skate , my knowledge on the car is growing every day and flicking through the manual helps but i don't think i have half of the features (2.0d HSE), I'm pretty sure i don't have air suspension (no up and down buttons on centre console) so getting lowering links or using a programmer would be useless, so i was wondering what you experts think ?

This what it looks like on OEM 22” wheels and standard tyres with the ride height at normal height so there is still a decent gap there. I think possibly having black wheels doesn’t help you in the aesthetics dept, it makes the wheels look invisible.

Thanks Tim, I think they could both benefit with a 20/30mm drop, any ideas how to achieve this ?

Current thoughts are its "ok" obviously the small 2.0 engine isn't ideal for such a heavy car but it still moves when it needs to.

On the air suspended cars a drop is the last thing you want, it drops the car to access height and you only have to lock it down to that to drive inside a multi-storey car park to find out how awful the ride becomes - many newcomers to RRS have tried it and very soon reverted to the standard height. But nobody else on here will have experienced a coil sprung RRS so you will be the guinea-pig for us...... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

what size tyres are they, to me it looks like you just need to increase the profile to achieve a better look - FILL those arches with rubber, dont drop the suspension !. MY 14.5 SE SDV6 Loire Blue. Silver roof. 22's.

I checked all data’s, and the standard ride height is exactly the same for air suspension models as for regular springs.

As above noted, this optical gap could come from tire size or wheel design.

If the tyres are 35 profile then I would also check the load rating as it might be 106 instead of the 108 that it should be.mines on 22’s & it looks fine

Great responses and to be fair the comment on the tyre size is probably what is letting it down, they're currently on 285/35 22 - 106V so i'd assume that they are a little slimmer than the OEM version ? So as my tyre knowledge (along with the car) is also limited to increase tyre width i'd just need to change them for 108 versions ?

In regards to the performance of the RRS i'm more than happy with it, I've come from a BMW 330e so had instant power and was obviously quicker but its only a week since i got the keys so still running it in.

yes you need 275/40r22's with 108 or more load rating,,the 295/40r22's I have are 112 which is acceptable as it is higher load rating,,if you left the 106's your insurance will probably invalidate any claim if they were to check the tyres.
Also put some half decent tyres on it instead of those budgets that are on now.
