48 hours from collecting my MY16 RRS and an interesting turn

....so, I've been praising my dealer experience with Stratstone Aylesbury and with 2 days to go prior to collection, I'd thought I'd check on status of the remaining preparation items.....what a surprise to find out from the receptionist that my salesman is now on holiday for a week in Mexico ?

Had I pushed him so hard that he had to find a far flung place to escape to ???? Smile

Seriously though, what is sad is that a simple notification from the salesman to me, introducing a sales person to cover for him, would have gone a long way...

Lets see how well they prepare the car and if they complete all the items agreed with the original sales contact.

Shouldn't it be easier to buy a car these days ?????

I never realised that there was so much demarcation within dealerships that the person who took your order also has to hand the car over............. most sales persons are salaried with sales bonuses these days and not working on commission so what difference does it make who hands over the car, also there must be somebody more senior who could do the job if they don’t trust another sales person to do it......... sales manager or dealer principle must be senior enough to make sure all the right paper work is done after all. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

IMO I couldn’t care less who gives me the keys. Did I get what I paid for? That’s the question. Noisy black one

Salaried with a sales bonus sounds not much different to commission. The important bit being how big the bonus is and how much of the total take home it represents. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

Tell them to transport it, not driven, to your home. That will focus their attention

Thanks for the feedback all - eventually collected the car last Saturday - surprisingly good experience but some issues (e.g. 4 tyres replaced but 3 were pirellis and 1 was continental - annoying....)

Will post pics soon - was impressed with the overall paint prep including GuardX
