It is 16000 OR 12 months which ever comes first isn't it? Do you do a lot of stop start/ commuting in your car as that can increase servicing requirements. Sorry I cannot help with the AdBlue other than that if you are doing such short runs that the engine never gets fully warmed through before you reach your destination then your Nox emissions will be high and AdBlue consumption increased to counteract them. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

As said by Tim, it is generally 16K or 12 months, (dependant on year/model), but the reminder will come up at different mileages depending on your driving style and if it has lots of cold starts and short runs. So no "right" mileage as long as you stick to above rules or as warning indicator on display tells you, like 1248 miles to service.

My 2015 L494 came up at 9000 miles and was 12 months to the day after delivery this year and I don't do any rush hour stop start driving at all................... BUT who cares if you have the 3 year or 5 year servicing contract? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Apologies for regurgitating a thread, but I got a bit of a shock today when accessing my in control app which showed my Sport was due a service.

Dealer told you porkies........ just check though if it has the optional service pack - the dealer will tell you and also you can check when it was last serviced using your VIN in the Service Records Website, no dealer is going to service a car unnecessarily so if you know when it was first registered and then dom12 months intervals from that date and thatvwill tell you when the service might be due, unless the car has been doing more than 16000 miles a year when Services come sooner 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks Tim. First registered 11 Nov 2016 and they insisted it was serviced prior to me picking up the car. I'll have a look at the service records online and see what it says.

Does the dealer not have to reset the service counter when servicing? If forgot then the RRS won't know it's been serviced. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

I'm trying to cast my mind back to when I picked it up and I'm fairly sure it had been reset, hence my shock today. |

Do you have adblue to reduce NOx? It wouldn’t be low would it? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes Tim. Approx 7500 miles to next fill so that seems to be ok. |

Took the car into Beadles Southend this afternoon after spending quite a few hours reading up on the numerous threads relating to oil dilution and the premature service warning that appears to be prevalent across certain Land Rover/Range Rover marques including the MY16 L494.

My SC has just told me it needs a first service, looks like it will be around 5000 miles. I was going to have the oil changed anyway, if I remember from my previous RRSs, the service intervals are shorter here in Oz due to the climate. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
