Interior trim swap/colour change

Replaced interior trim with black this evening. I’m really chuffed with the results.

Looks great Thumbs Up

How easy is it to change the centre console trims? Looks like a big job, does the whole console need to come out?

Thanks Evo5man. The door trim can be done in about 10 mins, really easy. The console is a bit more in depth, you have to undo two screws behind the CD slot (which pops out), remove the gear lever (put in drive, depress the button and pull up), then use some panel removal tools (set can be purchased for £10 from euro car parts) to pull up the top part of the concole (where the trim starts). Then you need to disconnect the two plug connectors and it lifts up at the back and out. I then took the console into the garage and stripped it down to fit the side trims. If you are reasonably handy its easy enough to do. I plan to wrap my old trims in the same colour and sell them on. Thinking about it i should have done a video for youttube as there isnt a lot on there for this specific job. If you plan to do it feel free to ask questions.

Hi Bustanut, thanks for the reply and info. One of the centre console side trims in my car is scratched and I'm thinking about changing it. Your info will definitely help me a lot Thumbs Up

Thanks again.

Wow I'm so glad you posted these pictures and mines being changed as we speak and I was a little nervous about whether I'd made the right choice.

Pinnacle, are you going with the piano black like mine. I think it brings the interior up to date. The wood is nice but not in this instance. It’s such an easy mod and makes such a difference to the look & feel of the interior. I think a brushed silver could look good too. Possibly with a black interior. Are you doing it yourself?

I’ve seen powerful U.K. do them and some other bits. They are out of stock on some parts which is typical as my CD player facia must be a nats gonad bent and stops the CD ejecting. I was going to fit a black gloss one but alas they are nil stock. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Came across them on eBay and bought them on impulse. I had decided I was going to change mine to black but was going to wrap them. I will wrap mine in black and list them when I get chance.

That looks like a good buy jzive. I paid £150 for just the black trims. If I hadn’t done it already I’d have been all over yours. Good luck with the sale. I d be surprised if they don’t sell quickly.
