United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

The motoring press won’t be interested, it’s a case of the tale wagging the dog. If you look at all the motoring mags there is very little negative press of any brand, the mags know if they criticise a brand then they will be excluded when the next model is launched or latest innovation is shown.
I’m sure the motoring press know all about JLR’s problems they just choose to ignore them, look at all the problems the F Pace had it still got car of the year, the RRS MY17 had its fair share of software problems but I never saw an article exposing them.
The mags are in the manufacturers pockets

I’m really sad... It’s one of the best car but software is designed by mickey mouse

Left steering wheel controls sometimes work sometimes don’t.
System language reset every 2/3 days from italian language to english.
System recognizes sim data but sometimes doesn’t... so I have to swith off data from connection menu and reactivate again.
When I’m playing music from my iPhone, after 3/4 tracks the cover and song name freeze.
Keyfob works only very colse to the car.

It’s not acceptable for a car that costs 100k euro!

Any news about software bug fix?

Stilll no end in sight...

Update: replacement part (left steering wheel control) was supposed to come 2 weeks ago. Now I am told they don’t know when its supposed to come, German JLR waiting for the UK to deliver one...
Its really annoying and system language keeps switching between German and English, Nav speech sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t, etc. etc. the problems I described in my earlier post continue to exist and I get a feeling the dealer does not know how to fix this at all.

I also can relate to gamby’s issue with the SIM card data problems....

I am rarely driving the car these days as I am frustrated.

Btw- has anyone found a way to show the entire list of tracks in a given album while it is playing? Regardless of BT or cable connection - pressing the track name/cover or anything else (as described in the user manual) does not show anything...

Chicken replacing the left hand steering wheel control won't work. One member on full fat forum had his changed not only did they damage the steering wheel but the fault returned almost straight away. Censored SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

Thanks and by co-incidence, the GM of the dealer just called -software update expected mid/end April. Confirmed replacements won’t work. Seems to be a processing power issue combined with software issues. JLR has asked dealers to stop replacing steering wheel controls until software is out. It seems that a lot of cross-interference is going on and is what they observe, ie an issue might not appear if e.g. in a certain drive mode etc.

So, one can only wait and hope. If the software is coded badly or pre-maturely, it seems the CPU won’t be able to cope. Just great!

It is frustrating to wait more and more. At least this time they were clear stating I am not the only one with these issues and a replacement at another car did not help. But why did it take more than 4 weeks to confirm??

Can‘t comment on dealership in Germany that much and it would be unfair to generalise. I can only hope now as mine is the biggest JLR dealer in Germany and should be able to use at least a bit of leverage....

Hey again asking about my earlier question re album song list (I use an iPhone 7) - any help?

Any updates folks? have you had your MY18 issues sorted? Anyone else with a new car care to share their experiences of the MY18?

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

My 2018MY HSE Dynamic is STILL at the dealers after THREE weeks trying to resolve a knocking noise from the front suspension.......

Also awaiting replacement of seat covers which have been on back order for 4 weeks (hopefully due next week).

Left hand steering wheel controls replaced but no idea if this has resolved the issue as I have not driven or even seen my car for ages.......!!

Earlier this week I sent a letter exercising my right to reject the car so now awaiting a formal response.

RRS, I am almost embarrassed to say that having taken delivery on 1 March, I have clocked up 890 trouble free miles apart from one of the washer jets detaching itself.

The 2 minor issues with the leather upholstery are waiting for parts to arrive and will be fixed under warranty.

Cheers

Hi Paul,

A very small (pea sized) indentation on one of the rear seat's side bolster and a small lump (about 50 pence size) at the front of the rear seat bench. Both were noted when I took delivery and LR agreed to replace straight away.

Cheers

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Firenze Red

Hi PDC took delivery of mine end January and have taken it to 2500 miles and not a thing wrong- very happy with it. That's comparing it to 6 years in a fantastic Audi A7.

I'm hooked reading the forum, don't know why because there's so much negativity. I'm sitting her waiting for something to go wrong, even when it's not being driven. Rolling with laughter very stressful..... 2017my RRS 2.0 SD4 HSE, Firenze red, black and panaroof
